WordPress Blog Tips

For the mainstream of readers out there, this post may seem like I am stating the obvious. But it has come to my attention that some of the newbies could need a little extra help with this topic.

Whenever you write a new blog post or article you should write it in some kind of word document software then save it before you copy and past it to your WordPress Blog.

Some of the more common: Microsoft Word, Wordpad, Notepad.

You can find Microsoft Word in your computer by clicking;

- > Start (bottom left corner of your screen) – > All Programs, – > Microsoft Office
You can find WordPad & Notepad in, Start – > All Programs – > Accessories

If you are using vista it’s, “The circular object with the red, green, blue, yellow wavy flags”

My preference is Microsoft Word because of all the html and extra functions it has other than the simple notepad, wordpad functions and “Don’t quote me” But I think it was Office 2007 where word also started offering an extra option where you could choose a Blank Document or New Blog Post.
Anyway the reason I advise you write and save your posts into a some kind of word Processor is you will have a copy of all your work, what would you do if for some reason your site had a major malfunction and you lost all your work, don’t think that this is not possible, it can happen! Unless you are paying your hosting provider a monthly fee to back-up your site of course, then you should be safe. “Should Be!”

Your site may even be lost by your hosting provider. “Not likely, but not impossible” another good reason is, you can go back to a previous article or post that you have saved separate to your blog and add-subtract to it at will, turn it into an article or mess around and make it into a new post. You dont have to worry if you run out of time and leave it incomplete, you can simply come back tomorrow and finish off. Yet another good reason for doing this is you could have some kind of upload problem when you finish writing your blog, “possible internet connection issues” then all your work will have to remain in limbo while you sweat and worry if your work will still be there when your site comes back

There many, many more, very good and valid reasons why you should always write you principal copy into a word processing software before uploading to your blog. It may save some major headaches in the future.

When you are done you simply copy and paste your work into your wordpress blog then ad your anchor text and pictures and pretty things up. Dont forget to check the resource box of this article to learn heaps more about wordpress blogs.
